History

LightSources, Inc. is headquartered in a 150,000 square foot facility in Orange, Connecticut. The company was founded in 1983 and has since grown to become an international leader in the design and manufacture of germicidal and specialty fluorescent lamps. Through a constant commitment to innovation and to the development of the best products in the germicidal lamp industry, LightSources has become a leader in the specialty lighting market.

In 1989, LightSources expanded by creating LCD Lighting, a worldwide supplier of Avionic, Maritime, and IT Backlight solutions. Global expansion continued in 1993 with the creation of LightTech Lamp Technology Ltd. Located in Budapest, Hungary, LightTech is the sister company of LightSources. LightTech began manufacturing lamps in 1995 and has since grown to be a European leader in both the indoor tanning and germicidal lamp markets.

LightSources is a ISO9000 certified company dedicated to an international standard of excellence.

Purifying Air and Water

LightSources offers a high-performance quartz ultraviolet lamp line, which is used for both germicidal and ozone-producing applications. These lamps are distributed worldwide and are well known for their exceptional level of quality. A company long known for innovation, LightSources has introduced a patented single-ended germicidal lamp, a lamp and sleeve combination known as a cell lamp, and a host of other unique products. Today our germicidal and ozone-producing lamps can be found worldwide.

Transportation, National Defense, and the Space Program

LightSources is the sole manufacturer of lamps used in the cockpit of the new Boeing 777 passenger jet. We are also proud to have a stake in the defense of our country and in the space program. Our lamps are used for special illumination in jet fighters and bombers and in the Space Shuttle. LightSources products touch the lives of everyone, making life safer and more enjoyable for all of us. Growth and Expansion

One of LightSources primary goals has always been to provide engineered solutions for the specialty lighting needs of our clients. The engineers at LightSources are focused on constant innovation. New and exciting products are always just around the corner at LightSources.

LightSources has expanded dramatically over the past five years. We have experienced unprecedented growth in excess of 350%. To continue to grow at this remarkable rate we must pay constant attention to quality, efficiency, and above all, product innovation.
