UV Curing Light Bulbs – Top Performing Options

At LightSources and LightTech we design, engineer and manufacture the world’s best low pressure, medium pressure and spot and pellet amalgam UV curing light bulbs. Our bulbs provide OEMs across the globe with cost-effective solutions for a variety of curing applications including adhesives, inks, varnishes, lacquers, and decorative glazes. Also our amalgam curing light bulbs are ideal for drying inks and adhesives with a cationic base. By offerings advantages such as high efficiency, low maintenance and no hazardous byproducts, more and more industries have made the switch from heat-cured systems to UV curing over the last several years.

UV Curing Light Bulbs – Discover Our Excellence Selection

So how do UV curing light bulbs work? Simply put, the Ultraviolet light (UV) in a UV curing bulb is invisible electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than visible light, but longer than x-rays. It has a wavelength range of 10 nanometers (nm) to 400nm. The UV light is emitted by electric arcs and used for actinic purposes such as producing chemical reactions. This technology is especially important in industrial applications for curing or drying chemical compounds, inks and coatings. In recent years, it is also being used to inactivate microorganisms (bacteria).

Among our impressive line-up of innovative UV curing light bulbs, our amalgam lamps offer an output of 300 to 1200 watts (low pressure UV curing lamps have an output of 150 watts) with one-third of the output usable UVC energy. This technology allows OEMs to downsize their system while still maintaining the efficiency required for UV curing. In addition LightSources and LightTech are proud to have developed pellet amalgam technology. When compared to spot amalgam technology, a pellet amalgam lamp produces higher UVC intensity while providing a higher UVC output at 80% and 60% dimming operation modes; thus offering increased outputs with reduced costs.

LightSources, our strategic partner LightTech, and our affiliated companies Voltarc, LCD Lighting and Cerlux represent the foremost high-tech designers and manufacturers in the lamp industry today. In addition to our high-quality standard lamps, we also custom design products for OEMs of any size that meet almost any need.
