UV Lamps for Any Application

UV LampsUV lamps harness the power of Ultraviolet light which is used in countless applications every day. UV light is measured across a spectrum of 10 to 400 nm as either UVA, UVB or UVC emissions, which are shorter than visible light and longer than x-rays. LightSources is a leading expert and considered an authority on UV radiation, lamp design and production.

UV Lamp Applications

LightSources and LightTech, our valued European partner, design, engineer and manufacture advanced UV bulbs with custom phosphor blends, quality components and proprietary technology to meet any application requirement.
Some common applications which utilize the power of specially designed lamps include:

  • UV germicidal lamps
  • UV air treatment
  • UV curing lamps
  • UV tanning lamps
  • Ballast water treatment lamps
  • Phototherapy lamps

We offer high performance lamps for all of these applications and many others with innovative, custom designed solutions. LightSources is committed to continual improvement through research and development, offering first to market patented products which are proven to outperform comparable lamps.

Wide Selection of Lamps – Standard or Custom Designed

LightSources offers a wide selection of standard lamps and custom designed solutions from skilled lighting engineers. Our most popular selection of ultraviolet lamps include:

  • Low Pressure Amalgam Lamps
  • Medium Pressure UV Lamps (MPUV)
  • Medium Pressure High Output (MPHO)
  • High Pressure UV (HPUV) Lamps

Low-Pressure Amalgam Lamps

LightSources offers low-pressure Amalgam lamps developed with patented pellet technology. Our low-pressure, pellet Amalgam UV lamps emit a higher ultraviolet output over spot Amalgam lamps in dimming conditions. This technology provides reduced expenses with increased UV output, up to three times higher output over comparable lamps.

Applications which benefit from our low-pressure Amalgam lamp technology include UV curing processes for instant drying and strengthening of varnishes, inks, and polymer resins. Low-pressure Amalgam lamps also deliver powerful germicidal properties for instant sterilization and disinfection of water and can be found in many water sterilization applications.

Medium Pressure UV (MPUV) Lamps

Medium pressure UV lamps are also useful in UV curing processes as well as microbial disinfection and germicidal applications. LightSources offers vacuum sealed lamps and is a leading global supplier of UV germicidal lamps used in surface, water and air treatment systems.

Medium Pressure High Output (MPHO)

Medium pressure high output lamps generate high temperatures between 600° and 900°C with wavelength emissions ranging from 200 to 400 nm. LightSources offers custom designed MPHO lamps with watts per inch (WPI) ranging from 100 to 700 WPI and various sizes ranging from 2 to 85 inches.

High Pressure UV Lamps (HPUV)

Our high pressure lamps, also called halide lamps, emit high output with short wavelengths ranging from 254 to 365 nm. This high pressure, high output instantly hardens and strengthens polymers in UV curing processes making it popular in automotive and aerospace applications. LightSources offers custom high pressure UV lamps with gallium iodide additives to increase wavelength up to 400 nm.

LightSources offers these high quality, high performance UV bulbs for virtually any application. Our ultraviolet lamps are manufactured with high-quality materials and components such as hermetic seals with molybdenum foil encasings, hard quartz capillary materials and pure tungsten pin electrodes. We design all lamps with the exact phosphor blend and pressure required to meet your specification requirements.
